We’re proud to announce that Environments is finally available as a standalone app for your iPhone and iPad. (An Android compatible version is also in development.) This simple and easy to use app features all of Irv Teibel’s original Environments recordings, some in longer versions than ever heard before. All 22 recordings are playable anytime (no internet connection required), with playlist mode, infinite play mode, info screens on each recording, along with an Irv Teibel bio. Environments for iOS is a coproduction with our friends at the Grammy-nominated Numero Group label.

Many thanks for making the Environments recordings available in the digital age. I had resorted to digitizing my LPs a number of years ago, making 80-minute CD-Rs. Playing them in loop mode from my iPad is even better! I wrote the original Environments wiki page, and had been bugging Teibel to release CDs right up until he passed away. It’s a shame he never participated in the phonography boom of a few years ago. I don’t think enough people appreciate what he did. His recordings are still the best on the market … or maybe second to Bernie Krause’s Wild Sanctuary series on Rykodisc.

I love this app, it’s very soothing, especially “night in the country “ just as I remember living on the farm! I certainly enjoy each and every one of these recordings, and glad to have stumbled across this app. So lucky, he brings such joy ! I would have loved to do the same. !! I wish I could hug him, these sounds are so important !

My job recently changed my phone to Android. I’m hoping you are still working on an Android version. I miss having this app and would definitely purchase again.
