This summer on August 24, 2024 we were proud to foster the launch of a special listening event – a summer “cool-down” field recording sound bath, featuring refreshing selections from Irv Teibel’s legendary “environments” records. The event was presented by DubLab and the Philosophical Research Society and held at PRS headquarters in Los Angeles.
This session was born of a conversation between PRS and Jennifer Ballow, who shared that – in the thick of sizzling summers – her father Irv would hold “cool down” listening sessions, wherein he would treat his guests to his high fidelity recordings of chilly blizzards or refreshing tropical breezes. Afterwards, his guests would report feeling their body temperatures drop as the waves of soothing sound rolled over them. We hope that this will be the first in a series of similar events!
